A deep dive into Binance’s Social Media Content Marketing Strategy.

Organic.
What’s the first thing that pops up in your head after reading that word?
Fruits? Vegetables? Relationships, perhaps?
Chances are that if you’re a marketer, the first things that come to mind are: engagement, reach, performance; you get the drill.
Over the years, the word organic has become increasingly important to us marketers. We aim for campaigns that are capable of gaining traction without the aid of paid advertisements (SEM). The duration of our campaigns has also increased simultaneously. Instead of one extensive launch, we prefer trickling in the campaign bit by bit, content by content.
This approach has led to the rise of one of the newer verticals in the field of marketing: Content Marketing.
Tell me what to do, don’t Sell me what to do.
Content marketing has paved the way for engagement like no other strategy has been able to. It blends in perfectly with the organic content that we consume through our social media. It helps to break away from the sales-y bit of marketing & allows brands to genuinely connect with their audience.
Marketing strategies used in the Web3 space have drastically changed as compared to those in the Web2 space. Unsurprisingly, content marketing still remains prominent. In fact, memes are treated like royalty within the Web3 community. (Please don’t blow your money on random meme coins after this; This is NOT financial advice 🙃)
So in case you’re confused with regard to the kind of content that you should be putting out, or maybe you simply lack inspiration, you’ve come to the right place!
In this blog, I’ve put together some of my favourite content posted by Crypto giant Binance. Additionally, I’ve also included broad content buckets (categories) that’ll templatize content strategy for you. Without further ado, let’s get into it.
I hope this blog helps in unwinding your creative coil. 🌀
Seven Content Bucket Ideas (Inspired by Binance)
~ That’ll give your Social Media page the creative & humourous boost that it needs!
7) Show off your product a little – but don’t forget – product placement is key
Binance (in collaboration with Visa) has an exclusive crypto card for those interested. They offer cash rewards, vouchers & all that jazz. It naturally makes sense for them to promote this aggressively. Here’s how Binance does it:
6) Brand reminders are important – but moderately funny reminders are better than in-your-face ones
Trading crypto in general is expensive because of the fees charged for the transaction to be recorded on the blockchain. However, the fees for trading Bitcoin (BTC) on Binanace is 0% – so here’s a fun reminder for you in case you forgot:
Consider this, an image of me reminding you to subscribe to this blog for more amazing content 😇
5) Be relatable – & hit where it hurts
If you’ve invested in a market as volatile as the crypto market, checking your portfolio over and over (& over) and oovveerr again is common. I too, check my $7 worth of portfolio several times a day 😌. Binance knows that, of course. And so here’s a tweet calling me (and many alike) out:
4) Don’t shy away from using the face of your Founders every now & then
First of all, I accept no responsibility in case you get fired because of this. Now that that’s out of the way – more often than not your CEO (or founder, etc.) is the face of your company. And your audience is familiar with them. So personalize your content by featuring these folks. Here’s an example for you:
3) Rule #1 of the content game is that – you’ve got to hop in on the trend – always
Okay, not always always. But whenever your brand identity allows for it, you should hop in on the current affairs & trends. This helps you stay relevant in a market that’s always changing.
Here’s a little hack since you’ve made it this far in the blog: folks like Elon Musk & Kanye West are almost always in the news. Feel free to use them in your content 😉. Binance surely agrees too:
2) Festive (topical) posts are great for that extra engagement
Constantly churning out content can be exhausting. Festive seasons can give you a much needed break & smooth the process over for a bit. Additionally, unlike trends, these can be planned for way in advance. Phew, am I right? Go all in with your creativity:
~ In a very WatchMojo style, I’m going to be giving out an honourable mention. Cuz why not?
Feel free to throw in some extra humour (& shade, perhaps) whenever you find the chance:
1) Don’t take yourself too seriously
Again, if your brand identity allows for it, don’t shy away from joking about yourself. You’ll come off less pretentious & your audience will connect with you better. This will truly help you ace the content game. I mean, if a multi-billionaire can take a few jokes, I’m sure you can as well:
That concludes this blog. If you notice, it’s almost as if Binance’s page has a personality of its own. In more serious terms, this is your brand identity. If you pay enough attention to it, you’ll be able to come up with content ideas much faster. So spend ample time fleshing out this aspect of your brand.
